Ive noticed sometimes after it's raining that my TJ smells moist, and sometimes has moisture on the inside of the front window. I've checked the carpet and door trims trying to find if water is leaking in anywhere.

Does anyone else have any problems with this, and where should I look to try and solve the problem, cos I can't find it :(

I occassionally get some condensation around the door seals and after heavy rain the air in through the vents blows a bit damp. I just dry it up with the aircon. Good luck finding the leak.
My old 83 Sigma had a leak in the firewall. A cartridge of silicon every winter kept the spreading leaks at bay.lol

Cheapest car I will ever run. 5 years I had it and only spent $200 on Maintenance. I remember every time I got that baby to 100kph I was scared that the dilithium crystals in the hyperdrive were going to overheat and cause a rupture of the flux-capacitor!!!

:D

i have this problem.
wat happens is ppl dont wind the window all the way up, u can do it just that little bit more, other wise it leaks like a mofo. also some times ppl knock the rubber outta the door so it hangs out but most of the time the problem is that the window isnt complelty up even though it looks like it is

Well, I've checked the windows, and seals, but they all seem to be dry. I can't put the windows up any higher cos they are electric. Its as high as they go :P

Have your aircon on frequently especially when its damp, makes a great dehimidifyer.

In a previous ride, our TN had little rubber flaps at the base of the doors,
these blocked the drain holes but usually also refused to let water out.
Water slipped in at the glass up top and collected in the doors until
there was like an inch or two at the bottom of the doors... took a while
to figure out why everything was damp and musty so often.
(just JUNK those rubber flaps)

Haven't had that happen on 3rd gen but.

Was at Fowles today, there's a green KF sedan there which smelt very musty too.
Lifted the boot lid and it was just dripping with condensation.
Lifted the boot carpet... found a whole colony of mold & other plantlife!!

You'd think with a car made in 2003, that you'd be able to get in it after some rain, and it not reek like wet carpet. It's kinda disapointing.

You haven't dislodged the condensation drainpipe under your dash have you?
Also try pouring water into the vents at the bottom of your windscreen... the water
should come out underneath the car. If any disappears, drainpipe could need inspecting.

imho with Mitsu its always been "expect the unexpected". :doubt:

My current wagon... rear washer jet's pipe wasn't fitted securely, dripping water inside.
Spent ages looking for a "leak" in the rear tailgate and/or window glass.

There's also flakey black paint from the roof bars and CD changer busted within last weeks
of warranty but dealer couldn't book me in until the week after warranty expired... and
couldn't get factory to pay for the repair. $300 and 2 mths later... now changes discs
but damned thing skips so much its bloody useless.

Ahh, if these were $300,000 handbuilt Ferraris - we'd call it "character"... :D
