i've been told that real dark tinting works well with wagons!!
so i'm looking into getting my wagon tinted..
Is real dark the best or just a few shades lighter
i know about defects and stuff so i was just wondering were there any like
shades that would look best, without my car being illegal..
which i wouldn't mind....but i guess the law is the law

I enquired about getting my car darker tints, but the guy told me my Verada has the darkest legal tint. I want to get at least for levels darker than the ones I have now, but he said that the car would have to be a commercial car to get it to that dark...

I'm gonna see Solar Tint and get a quote and see how dark they can have it for me...

hmmm, i would go the darkest legal - go one shade darker and stick with that!!

Darkest legal tint is 35%

If you live in Melbourne i can send you to a place that will tint your car to 20% (illegal)

Because the Sports, VRX and Verada come with smoke tint glass (not film) the tinting that is done will be a bit darker.

Be sure to ask for Metallic based tint film (costs more) and DO NOT get the plastic based tint.. Thats the stuff that fades and goes that purple colour (ICK!)

I did (thow i had a big stereo) and the guy took me outside, gave me his number and told me to call hime on the w.end and hell do it at cost price and as dark as i want.
Took him and a mate just under 2 hours...no bubbles etc. U wont get a warrenty thow if its illegal...

There are places that will do it WITH warranty.. DONT goto backyard dealers man..

Mine is covered with a lifetime warranty agains all defects to the tint..

Its not an illegal product, just using them on the road is illegal.

If you ask for it, most places will do it, if they say its illegal simply reply i know!

If anyone is in WA and needs tint done i can reccomend you to one of our contractors, he's bloody unreal!

hmmm, my tint has a hole in it - bloody metal objects in the car!!! oh well - maybe i will consider ripping it off and getttig a darker tint!!

Its not Illegal to install darker tint.. It IS illegal for them not to tell you that it would be defected if on the road.

Some companies simply wont install it.. But most do.

They are nation wide. the 20 percent Premium tint is what i got.

You put cash infront of them they'll do it. Money solves any car problem, especially when you mention cash.

Its the only way to buy a car, take a wad full of money, break it up so the main wad is short 1500 or so and say "look mate i got this wad of cash, its all yours if you want it" :D

dark tint looks so cool

mine is 15 grade tint

but it is damn hard to see in the dark

the only bad thing is if you get caught, because if you are in a accident even if not your fault, you are F@#$ because your car is defective and if that guy died you are going to jail

true story a friend, lost his licence for 1year and a huge fine

and a woman ran into him and wrote off his car, to make thing worse ins. did not pay up because of the tint

MY TR HAS 18% ON IT, TRY UNIQUE WINDOW TINT IF IN SYDNEY, HE USUALLY ADVERTISES IN HOT/FAST FOURS UP THE BACK , HIS AD SHOULD HAVE A BLUE TURBO MIRAGE IN IT, IT WAS ALSO A FEATURE CAR IN ONE OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED MAGS!

Has anyone here had any tinting problems with the frameless windows?
I would think it would peel off a lot easier than most cars.

Anyone got a rough guess on how much it'll cost me to get a TE tinted to 35% (I had better stay legal for the insurance)

i dont think ne one has had problems with the window tints its got, if anything having no frames will make ours last longer, cos it aint scraping against a frame when winding up... it seals itself on the outside of the car :D

as for cost, mine cost me 310 all round.. darkest legal tint :mrgreen:

havent had any issue with the tint except when some one knocked it with some jewellry and scratched it - oh well - put a small hole in it - about 5mm circumference - not enough to warrant doing the whole car again - nearly - but not quite!

As far as the headlight covers GBM - the most that was said was to spray the covers that you can buy from repco / Kmart !! they just pop on and off - more the deflect bugs than anything else - but a cheap alternative. almost worth me considering to do it!! if it werent for the fact i do so much night time driving!!

i went 20% tint and it cost me 200 dollars. Although i recently got defected for it so I had to remove it. I will be putting it back on at a later date.

it looked really good on a black car too.
