hey all,
I have just picked up my 380 and in reading all the documentation that came with the car, I found in the quick reference guide that anything to do with the reverse sensors, it states to refer to it's own manual. upon checking all the documentation, I found that this is the 1 manual I'm missing.
I have been in contact with the dealer, who stated that any manuals would have been put in the car. not being happy with the responce I contacted MMAL to try and source 1 from them, but they kept refering me to the dealership.
Does anyone out there know where I could get a manual or a quick reference guide for these sensors, or does someone have 1 that I could get a copy from.
Geoff
I would say the beeps would be quicker the closer you get to a solid object. Most senors act on this principle.

There should be a manual for Reversing Sensors AND Bluetooth.
As you will have noticed, it beeps once when put in reverse. I can't remember the exact measurements, but it's something like it starts beeping slowly when you're about 2 metres away from object, then has two other speeds that increase once you get to 1.5m and 1m. When you get too close it goes on a continuous beep - that means STOP! (don't quote me on these distances).
The dealer should have absolutely no problem in getting another manual for you. It's different to the usual vehicle and servicing manuals that you get, and should not be any more difficult than requesting a brochure.
Hi, I just collected my 380GT yesterday morning, and I do have the manual on the parking sensors that you are after.
E-mail me at jtan66@eq.edu.au and I am happy to scan the pages (it is only a few pages) and email back to you

That's a nice offer there. But dude, i'd ring the dealership again and demand the book. I mean you just paid 30 something grand for a new car and they can't even find you a book that's supposed to come with it, THAT'S REDICULOUS! If they refuse, abuse them.

Sensors with beep quickly twice when reverse is selected. When you revers up to something like a solid wall, they will beep slowly once you get to 1.5m away. wehn you get to 1m away, they beep quicker, then wehn you get to 30cm they continually beep, this is when ya stop..
i think they are the same as the mazda ones, but thats how they work..

true.. only GT's come with the sensors from the factory..
any model with reverse sensors other than the GT are fitted by the dealerships..
Even the limited edition 380's were built in the dealerships.. they are just normal old stock 380's and the dealer has the spoiler fitted, the wheels fitted, parking sensors/bluetooth kit/fog lights/floormats all fitted at the dealers..
they arent a factory made model..
i took the more expensive reversing sensor option when i got my car.. tow pack :)

depends on what car your tow bar is gonna hit lol . If its a commodore (e.g. we'll just say a VP:D :D :D ) go straight for it, and leave a note on their car telling them to buy a new car because it's about time they upgraded to a better brand.

LOL! That's soo true. My dad this at his work. He changed from driving a Camry Azura to a Corolla wagon and the corolla didnt have them and he hit an object behind him (luckily it wasn't a car, it was a brick building). The corolla had a tow-bar so there was no visable damage to the car and he was travelling at an ultra-low speed as it was the first time he'd driven that corolla. By the way, he works at CCA, and all they have to drive is Toyotas and some people have Holden utes (but like 90% of their cars are all Toyota's, they've got one or two 380's though - which they bought last year)

Go to a different dealership and look in the glove box of a 380 gt out the front.
after the dealers leave you alone, grab what you need and run! run i tells you! lol

Same here. Not so much for me reversing into people, but they help when you get people bump you at the lights when they we're not paying attention and couldnt really sop in time.

I realise that the closer you get the faster the beeps become but the quick reference guide also refers to the reverse sensor manual for the ability of manually turning the sensors of if a bike rack is fitted the trailer part doesn't worry me because I had a tow pack fitted which is wired in such away that when a trailer is plugged in the sensor are disabled through the 7 pin plug.
Thanks for the offer JZT i'll send you an E-mail

i wouldnt really worry about turning it off if you have a bike rack on there
how often do you reverse with a bike rack? and for how long?
it would probably be easier to just ignore it rather than turn it on or off for maybe 30 seconds of reversing.
Hi GalleyG, e-mail sent!
Cheers

If the dealer didnt supply it and said they would, then go back there and get it...quite simple really.
