well the story goes somthing like this,
my mate whom owns a tn magna gave me a phone call to ask for some help putting on new alt-belt and air-con belt cos his got spat out. he broke his hand and can't do it himself
so i said no probs .i put the alt-belt on and couldn't get the air-con belt on , it seemed to be about 1-2cms off so we thought the shop had given us the wrong size. so we thought we'd just drive down and get the right size seeing as that belt only runs the air-con. so we head into town and half way there the car just dies wtf?? we thought. got out and opened the hood to find no alt-belt there. checked the pulleys and found out the crankshaft had broken and was just free spinning and wobbling so it must of spat the belt out somewhere. what a waist of time that was , so we pushed the car into a parking space and left it there while we walked home. found the belt on the road where we had backed out his drive way so from that point we were just running on the battery untill it died.
now i have a spare tn wagon in my drive way that i can just pull a replacement pulley off.
now my question is has anyone removed the crankshaft pulley. and how did ya remove the bolt without the pulley/engine turning over. cant seem to find any hints in the manual just says to take it off u need to remove the retaining bolt. but when i try to undo it the bolt just spins with the engine. i know it cant be all that hard . pls any input is greatly appreciated:D
