Check power steering fluid levels, also bleed it.

sounds really simple, but have u checked for rubbing on your tires? i had this too and thought it was my power steering...turns out a guard mud flap had come loose and was rubbing on my tire

I should also mention it's caused buy bumpy motion and is heard more on the drivers side and only a little on the passanger side.

Theres no tyre rub anywear and I do find it odd how it started since the very cold wheather I think.

And power steering fluid is fine.

I'm thinking it might either be a rubber bush somewhere or ball joint or even the shocks.

it sounds like one of 3 things, control arm bushes, tie rod ends or ball joints
they sell 2 kits on ebay to repalce these. i just bought both to day. in the first kit theres ball joints and tie rod ends for about 100 bucks + postage and the other kit is replacment bushes for ur control arms , made out of neoprene(bad spelling but sounds right) so there alot stiffer and thats about 60 bucks + postage. so it's like changing ur engine mounts from rubber too poly. so check there not warn and if not then id look at ur power steering .

Well cold weather isn't that nice to rubber...are you getting ice where you are yet?

If so, there's a possibility of somewhere one of your rubbers has had a small crack in it, water got in, frozen overnight and expanded and made the crack worse and then has caused the noise. Same thing happens to windscreens sometimes. I'd be going over your front suspension bushes with a fine tooth comb to really find it.

Good luck dude

My spider sensors tell me it's the stabilser bar bush's it happened to an old car years back that sort of noise started when the cold wheater started.

This hard bushes I was told not to bother with them for a daily driver as they wear alot quicker ?

You mean poly ones? I don't know the details of the rate of wear. I would be changing the bushes though, even just for new rubber ones. I don't *think* the poly ones wear quicker as they're quite tougher in comparisons. They can also flex beyond 360 degrees so that's gotta reduce the rate of wear as they can deal better with the stresses.

plus u gotta think how old are the ones in there. say almost 10 years. also to get the rubber one cost almost triple what the kit of ebay costs . so say the neoprene(bad spelling) lasted 3 or 4 years and the rubber ones 8 -10years. ur still save money there and u get better handle in which would mean it's a safer ride that u use every day. so all in all id rather spend 70 bucks every 3-4 years and have a better handling ride than spending 150-200 every 8-10 and losing a bit of handling. but thats only my preference:D
