hey guys, got a few questions about fitting 20's, to those people that have em, how wide are your wheels? does a 20 x 8.5" rim fit, obviously ill have to get the gaurds rolled, posibly flared, what did you guys have to do? oh and does any one knoe of a magna im W.A on 20's yet? i want that to be my claim to fame hehe

hehe not hard to fit.. 20x 8.5`s are sweet.. everyone with 20`s has fitted 225/35`s and they dont seem to have many problems.. it all xomes down to how low you have it.. i fitted 245/35`s to mine and it was fine lowered 2.5 inchs.. didnt scrub or run or anything.. was sweet..

Then i decided to lower it another 1.5 inchs thats when i had the dramas.. I took my back flares off my VRX as i had already ripped my front flares off when i turned.. i couldnt turn the wheels as they hit the flares.. its too low now as they still touch the guards when i turn on a bumpy road.. the problem i have in the rear is that the the car is way to low and i only have under 25MM of movement and clearance before my tyres hit the top of up under the wheel arces.. also when you drop it 4 inchs you really start to hace crazy camber problems and sill tyres wear..

My car is not very practical but who cares as it looks cool.. real biatch to drive with it loaded..

My advise.. dont lower it more than 2-2.5 inchs from standard and you will be sweet..:)

are 225/35's the normal tyre size to come on 20's? because lets say ive got some 20's on order from tempe (yeh i know) and its a wheel and tyre deal, what size tyres am i likely to get, apart from probably be cheapo's and not worth 200 bucks,

You will get 225`s.. they will tell you 245`s wont fit..



here is two pics of mine.. if i put the flares back on the car look nearly two inches lower as the flares actually hang down past the guards.. it will put the back RIMS way up under the guards not just tyres..:P

so im guessing you got your gaurds rolled yeh? did you have to get them flared at all? also i notice the camber on the rear wheels, is that just a result of the lowering and big wheels, or you got a camber kit installed? one more. hehe, in those pics, are they 225's or 245's? now ive had a total mind blank, 235/245 etc refers to the width of the tyre right? so would a 225 be stretched over the rim or is it actually a proper fit?

yer, tempe will tell u only 225 will fit, but tell them they have put 235s on 20" rims on magnas there before and they might give u them.

only issue i have is going fast around a bumpy corner then the front wheel will bounce and hit the guard... but thats the only grief i have.. ego's sits lower so thats the ultimate extream and one that should be approached carefully :P I think ill take my coilovers down another notch this week.. just to test :D

Genuine Lowenharts are classy and pimpin. they'd cost at least $1500 per rim.

You will have more rubber on the road and the sides of your rims will be better protected..

225 will be stretched (like in Dee's pics) if she were to take a corner hard, or have to swerve suddenly, she is pretty much guaranteed to destroy a rim (as there is no sidewall to protect the rim)

If you have to get 20s. Get 235 or if it will fit 245 (this is the proper width for 8"5 inch rims)

As for the rims.. not on a magna..

You will get 225`s.. they will tell you 245`s wont fit..

go with a 225/35 R20 tyre on a 8.5 inch wide rim and you wont have a drama. 2½ inchs lower is safe and no need to roll guards or cut anything. I had to trim the inside of the flares a bit but nothing major at all
