hey guys im currently looking at buying a TJ VRX Magna. I am unsure about what series to get and i also want it in auto. Over what mileage should i avoid getting one at. Also what things do i need to look at, any common faults.
Thanks guys hope to have feedback!

No mileage over 100k more money to spend on big service eg:timing belts plugs leads oil blah blah

You'll want a TJ series 1.5 or onwards, otherwise you get 16 inchers instead of 17s.
Ideally find a series 2: late 2002 to mid 2003- climate control, 17s, electronic odo, all power options, more speakers.
Also, the VRX is essentially the same car as the Sports, except it doesnt have the VRX bodykit or the 17s. So if your not fussed about the bodykit, or plan on putting your own rims on, a sports might be a cheaper way to go. Im biased though because thats what I ended up doing :D :P

yeah i was looking at series 2 and i was trying to keep a car under about 50-60k mileage, is there any other faults with the car.

keep your eye on the auto boxes..... make sure its 100% perfect....
check for clicking noises from the front wheels...
TJ vrx's mostly are at around 80-90+++ km's....... major service cost is expensive roughly $1000, so keep that in mind.
My major service was around $400-500.

90,000k Service $370 - Oil+filter, coolant, various checks etc
Timing Belt $470
Water Pump $300
That was through Mitsi... with only the rear plugs being changed to platnium. Extra for the rest.
Through a normal mechanic who worked for Mitsi for 15 years.... $600 max with all plugs platnium... wonder who I will be using...
Mitsi are a flamin rip off.

Make sure to check and listen to the handbrake while driving and anything assosiated with it. It's a common fault with most magnas!!

Just a stretched hand brake cable, not a biggy.

As Dave Au said....it's no biggy. More an annoyance. Just keep an ear out for squeaks and rubbing noises around the back wheels when coming to a near stop.
