Black shows every little imperfection, its a bugga to spray well and costs a bit more usually. I'd keep lookin for a black car......Thats my 2 cents worth ..:D

It will also look like it's been resprayed, unless they pull the engine out and everything in the engine bay and respray that too. Will kill the resale value of your car. People will say "why did he respray the car?", "What's he hiding?, accident damage etc". Will end up costing you more than the original paint job.

Cheaper and easier to sell your Blue VRX and go and buy a black one. Even if you were to get the outside of the blackone touched up and resprayed on the outside only.

I am seriously thinking that there should be a section for also non-related Magna parts sale section? People are selling other car parts which is fine but I think it should be sorted.
if u get a respary u should just go a crazy colour. i am very soon :D
gonna cost me $1700, and thats all the inside of the doors and stuff done. but some place's want up to $6000 just for a spray

yeah thats very true
unless u know someone that does the spraying, u wont get a decent cheap-ish job!
that said, some places are just a rip off with huge mark ups

Pearls, harliquins and candy paints are all gay. Any normal colour will look like plastic when it's dirty and faded but at lease it won't look cheap and tacky. Get a good colour done right or buy the right colour car in the first place.

i painted my own car black... very difficult to paint, even more so than the metallic grey i used for the two-tone.

spray painting is not cheap because of the cost of the materials involved. decent car paint like Standox starts at about $100 a litre. it takes 2-4 litres to spray a car before you go anywhere near the engine bay. then there is the panel work. to do it properly the whole car needs to be pulled apart(bumpers, handles, lights, door trims etc), then there are the dents. alot of people think their car is straight but when a experienced eye looks at it they can see plenty of dents. $2000-$3000 is the starting price for a decent respray plus another $500-$1500 in panel work. In the end you get what you pay for. if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. as for spraying the blue car black, go and trade it in on a black one, it will be cheaper and look better. black is a ***** of a colour to get right.

hey guys next week i will have to get my front bumber bar resrayed since on Wednesday night i just about hit a dog:redface: , and hugh amount of paint came out from front bumber near my number plate , plus the bumber bar has been pushed forward, so i won't have a car for 2 days, plus i've had few accidents with my garage where i stuff the paint job since i't so annoying to get out, and narrow.

Ouch man, but if you're going to do it again, there's really no point in getting it resprayed?
Have you tried looking for a 2nd hand bar the same colour? Might be abit cheaper than getting it resprayed.

Get a few quotes done. I ended up getting mine done for $170 but mine was unpainted to begin with. Not sure if that affects the price.

id say if ur goin to just spray the car in a standard black that magnas come out in then definatly just get a black one...
trust me a custom spray job and panel work is a lot of money, especially to get it done right! plus then u got all the parts that u need to take off and out to get in to every little nook and cranny, not a quick and easy job really :D
just my thoughts cos im goin thur it all at the moment
cheers

REVIVING AN OLD THREAD
i need to get my car resprayed ( to the same colour as it is currently ) as thers heaps of stone chips and some pealing paint on the bumpers as well as cracked clear coat.. could possably get away with just a bonnet and bumper respray but then colour matching is a pain
how much for a full respray
how much for bumpers and bonnet

to give you a rough idea, im having some respray work done on my car, im not sure what the front bar is costing, as insurance is paying for that, but im also having the rear bar resprayed and the bonnet stripped and resprayed, and just those alone is costing around $600 - but that is from a pro panel beating shop that specialises in prestige cars....
