ive searched around and read about how to remove/change the roof lining in our magnas, however that isnt my question. I need a bit of advise on what materials to use and of course your opinions.

Im gonna change my roof lining from the light grey to either a very dark grey or just plain black (to have an almost complete black interior, seats to be done later). With this i am also gonna change the trim, such as the pillar moulds, visors etc. (except the top handles (the "HOLY SH*T" bars as someone else put) because they are a sort of vinyl/leather material and may contrast well against the black) and im sure you cant simply paint them.

Ive got the material sorted out (Spotlight), but my question about the roof lining is, where bouts can i get the Spray Glue other ppl have talked about, and whats the deal with the foam? I know i take the roof lining out, remove the material and scrape away whatever orange "fluff" remains (assumes to be previous foam), then spray glue over cardboard, apply the new thin foam, then spray more glue on the foam then the material on top ??

Another question, doing the interior trim, what sort of paint do i use? (Assuming vinyl dye) Ive painted a few other things before (PC Case, Side Mirrors, HT Speakers) but I'm assuming this is slightly different. Im trying to get the best colour match for my interior (dash, steering wheel etc.).

why not goto a trimmer and ask what type of glue they use and if possible to provide u with some for a small amount of cash? i read what type of glue to use somwhere once, bascially its a spray on glue that you put on leave it til it becomes 'tacky' and put ur material down, pretty sure its a 3M product too but for the life of me cannot rememeber where to get it or what its called

as for the jesus handles (i like to call them that) u can spray them with vynil dye, doesnt work the best tho if its a well used part of the car, u could always get handy with a needle, thread and some vinyl n do them, ive vynil dyed the bottom half of my dash with satin black, its com up alright a few spots of scratched tho and just need a touchup (i am too in the process of converting the interior to black)

also handy if u can find a model with black parts in it (perhaps a verada? i dunno what 2nd gen models came with a black interior, if any) and pilfering as many parts as u can, no matter how hard u try its too hard to get plastic to be a different colour n still look stock

As for the roof liner, i havent fiddled with mine yet but i cant see it being too hard to make urself a new cardboard peice, gluing on some new foam and lining it all, but as i sai ive never fiddled with it yet (not til i work out how im gunna do my downlights!)

thats all i have to add, so have fun :)

the glue you want is heat resisant and can be brought from autobarn and other places. There is stronger stuff but i don't know where you can get it from.
