The wiring to the door: how can i access it on both sides without taking the dash off.. all i need are the speaker wires Before the door so i can attach the splits!! or is there an easier way!!

umm when you pull the speaker out of the door as it is - use that wire!!

when you pull hte door trim off - undo the speaker screws (4 in total) use those wires to plug into you new speakers and go from there - easy!!!

The stock speaker wire runs from inside the door out through the doorjamb grommet and through the inside of the dash and to the back of the head unit. You can tap into the wire at any point, perhaps just before it connects to the stock head unit harness would be easiest? If you want to mount your crossovers in the door you will have to run new wiring through the doorjamb grommets and then pull the dash apart too.

BTW didn't you double the 'estimated' amount of time required for the job to be done??? :D I remember many a time when I would be able to visualise how to do something to the car, then go out and the job blows out into ridiculous proportions and takes at least double the planned time.

this was my effort. seemed alot easier with the splits than running double wires through the grommets. oh and sook. mbquartz are a very good brand. how much did you pay? oh and sorry i still had to pull the dash apart. :(

Yup i thought EASY 2 hour job..

Wait wheres that damn speaker wire..

DAMN wait the speakers dont fit i gotta make a custom Wood thing.

WHERE THE HELL IS THAT SPEAKER WIRE..

Jeez its starting to rain and ive just dropped the tweeter on the floor..

its getting cold...

WHERES THAT @#$^& SON OF A B!^$% SPEAKER WIRE!!

I done one door.... wired it all up and slamed the Cover on the door frame (WHAT A MESS INSIDE) anyway i managed from where the window comes out from the door to get my Tweeter wire comin out and ive placed it well u know standard place on the dash (just dont open the door cause it will pull the wire out!!)

AND IT SOUNDS AWESOME!!!

Only one speaker is on so tommorow i will do a proper job.. well maybe depending on what time i wake up and plus i work at 12..

These Quarts mobile dsd 216 was got for i think around 300 ish and i dunno if its a rip off..

Oh yeah one thing is instructions for these are really hard for the idiot i am :)
