Hello,

My fellow "d" owners,

I look for opinions regards to Carmate and Sydney Special Vehicles SSV fibreglass products.
I know SSV is more expensive than Carmate, both sell what i want for my ride. What I do not know is the quality of their fibreglass products and delivery service, especially, for overseas customers, which I am one.

All replies would be appreicated.

Ive purchased a front bar for a lancer and an entire kit for a Commodore and a Laser off carmate and i am very happy with their products, the lasers kit was a little flimsy but that was my first project car about 5 years ago i think they have improved wonderfully.
My latest purchase the lancer front bar is really solid and it even came with mesh installed :D

Best advice i can offer for any fibreglass kit you ever buy, go and spend $50 on some matting, resin and a paintbrush and pack it up in behind the bumpers makes it a hell of a lot stronger and dosn't matter how messy/crap it is you can't see it!

I have heard bad things about carmate off other forums, I also rang them once and wasn't too happy with their manners.

The majority of the complaints related to the fit of the product and the time it took for the kit to arrive etc.

I've also been told that carmate don't actually produce all of their own kits, they outsource and resell others.

But, what I'm repeating is just heresay, so if people on AMC have had better experiences then their opinion is probably worth more than mine.

That is what I am afraid of, "arrival of improper fit parts," especially, since i am overseas.
Thanks for your input.
