hey guys, i need to know the length (length X in picture 1) of the cam in an magna astron

reason being i have this cam (pictured in both photos) from a sigma/scorpion that doesn't have the provisioning for the waterpump pulley. so i am going to machine a small piece of mild steel the same diameter as the cam journal, tap into the cam a thread, then put a bolt that goes through the pulley, my machined piece of metal and the cam, inorder to make this cam have the provisioning for the water pump.

so basically i need to know the difference in the length of cams inorder to machine this new piece up. ('Y' in pic#2 is not long enough to come out the side of the head.)

Cheers guys,
Bill

i only got a gregories manual... those diagram help though... i may have ot think again about what i wanna do... i *could* just take my rocker cover off and compare with my existing cam... but i'd rather have an idea about what i'm gonna be dealing with before hand

ohhh yeah, magna buff, the powersteering went in no probs. thanks for that PM you sent me about it.
