Alright as the title states, when i hold the revs in D at around 1500 the revs start bouncing up and down. below this or above (say 2k) its fine and changes gears smoothly and whatnot. Is it something to do with the TPS?

Or is it before you drive off or at lights.

ah sorry i didnt word that quite correclty reading back on it now.
I'm not stalling up the revs, i'm just driving along, i think it happense in all gears at that rpm. Coming out of my driveway in drive if i hold the accelerator pedal (not touching brakes!!) at about 1500rpm (moving) it will start to get jumpy and on my way to work early in the morning at about 60-70km/h (equating to around that rpm) it again gets jumpy.
I only noticed at that time of the morning as there are no cars on teh road and i kept a very constant speed, changes are smooth, kickdowns ok etc.
the reason i mentioned tps was becasue after i came back from overeas my battery was flat and i had to recharge it. Since then my idle speed once warm goes up and down, and this is also sine ive started to notice the problem in D.
I've reset the idle speed controller according to the manual (i've had the idle problem b4 and resolved it) but this time the idle jump (about 200rpm) has not gone away - is it odd that the idle jump occurs only when warm? Drive jump occurs whenever i hold it that low, which is not normal conditions.

I had a similar problem with my tp after tps adjustment. But it was engine flare when changing gear.
Check the connections at the distributor, if the rubber boot is split it will allow corrosion at the terminals. Check the ht cap for arc over and the leads. If all is well reset the tps.
Check also all vac lines as this cause a low speed lean out and wavy engine idle.
Try spraying crc or similar on the engine electric connections that are related to the efi.
The fact that the engine is not idling properly suggests this is engine related.
Of course you did not say wether it felt like it was jumping in and out of gears, like it was hunting for a gear?
The old tm and some n's suffered from this problem wiv the auto gearbox.
Let us know how you get on...
