View Full Version : Replacing breather tubes

Just went to clean out my breather tubes and PCV valve, hasn't been done for at least as long as I've had the car, and found that the tubes are hard, and impossible to get off. After much bending and twisting they softened a bit, but also had bits and pieces of the outer flaking off. So I'm guessing I'll have to destroy them getting them off, as it's impossible to get enough movement to pull them off.

So, before I go off half-****ed (as in old firearms, you dirty-minded...), wanted to check exactly what type of hoses I need, any tips for replacing the tubes, where the best place to buy from is, and also any info on catch-cans (not filters, don't want to have to replace them every month...).

The tube to the rear rocker cover (V6) seems like a pain to access, any tips?

ill be brief as im in a rush, i had the exact same problem mate, and you'll find they've also been clogged with oil vapor and quite restrictive, just gotta cut em them off with pliers, and keep cutting and pulling until they come off, then, i just just used some rubber hose from super cheap, think it was transmission oil cooler line.....same size so eh...
