I'm just curious whether a second gen 4cyl plenum can be fitted to a first gen TP EFI, and if so how difficult is it to fit? Just something I thought of doing as the 1st gen plenums are much smaller and not only do the second gen ones look more impressive I'm guessing there'll be slight improvements in fuel economy and/or power.

I did a search in the forums and came up with no easy answer. I'm thinking this would be a relatively cheap mod if it can be done by getting it from the wreckers...?

Thanks!

the main issue is the 2nd gen plenum sits too close to the firewall

From what ive heard it may be higher than the first gen one too.

Seeing the throttle body is different I think there's just enough difference there to make it not fit :( oh well!

hmm what if you take the plenum and throttle body? possibly the head aswell recon that would increase power?

The 2nd gen IS higher... I dont see why it will hit the firewall tho... give it a try... or at last measure it up :)

Last time I had my plenum off, I tried the TR one. It sits way too close to the firewall for my liking and given how the Astron II likes to rock itself about, I dont think it is a good idea.

I have noticed though that the TR engine has more power than the 1st gen even with the 1st gen's EFI gear.
