This is more for interest sake rather than a problem. I've notice after a few weeks of starting my tj vrx that and as soon as the motor roars into life there is a really short (less than a second) squeal coming from the dash somewhere (possibly ignition area). It's hard to explain in writing! It doesn't bother me or anything....it's more a case of anyone else noticing this.....:think:

I'm pretty certain its not a belt...its comes from the inside more plus its a different kinda noise than a belt

I hear a noise but mines not a squeal. More of a mechanical sound - like the electric aerial going up. (but at the front of the car....:confused: ). Certainly nothing bad!!! I think of it as my car initialising itself before liftoff. haha.:D

That sounds very pausible - ie. dash light turn off = no more sound.

I reakon thats it......great work....i knew it could something like that.....hence the "miffed"

Must be the ABS mine does it. My previous Holdens do it more of a buzz i think you can just hear it. Think the ABS does a diagnostic check when you start the car from what i remember.
