i heard that the S2 VRX is actually lower then the S1 - any confirmation?
also -
the factory sat nav - anyone know if there is an input to be able to put a DVD player or simular on it? its also MP3 compatable right?
======
on another point - the service scheduel is a bit rough;
every 7k or 6 months! i was expecting something more towards 10-15k intervals.
every second service is ~210-290 / while the 90k serivce eats the pocket out of $390!
those owners out there - does this seem right to you?

I dont know if the service schedule has changed, as with my car the service is every 12 months or 15'000 kays.
In my book it says Diesel cars are to be serviced every 6 months or 7500 kays.
not sure if it's changed now tho

I'd service every 5000k's anyway. 15000k's always seemed a bit long to me.

according to the SERIES 2 380 brochure, the SAT NAV includes the following:-
1 AM/FM RADIO
2 MP3 SINGLE IN-DASH CD PLAYER
3 DVD PLAYER
sorry but that is incorrect:- my series 1 vrx service book states that the major service is required every 15,000 km or 12 months (which occurs 1st), the 7,500km (6 month) minor service is only required if the car is driven outside of the service guide lines ie continually in dusty or cold conditions, very long distances and/or very low km's per year ( ithink it states less than 10,000 km).
90,000 km service :- this quote for costs seems on the cheap side to me when you consider the timimg belts have to be changed plus all the other bits & pieces that gets done.
my tl vrx cost me over $450 for it's 90,000 service last year.

Cheers dug,
the main thing i was getting at with the sat nav - is even if it was DVD player - no doubt it wont work while the car is in motion - having said that - im unsure if its handbrake activated or if its ECU dependant.

I'm pretty sure the screen goes blank after 8km/h or something like that.
Soundz like you're thinking of getting an aftermarket one? If you are, be carefull because if you have one that can be on while driving then it can make you the cause of an acident if the other driver says that you weren't watching the road, the police find a tv in your dash that can be on while driving and you basically get the blame - even if you weren't watching it (happened to a mate of mine who has a Soarer; my mate tells me he wasn't watching it).
P.S.> Whats on your plans for Booya MK 2? I tried to check your website link in your siggy but it won't work.

The sat nav system on 380 series 1 was a dealer fitted accessory, as opposed to factory. As for series 2 there is a different system (how different I'm not sure) which will also be fitted on request by the dealer.
There should (hopefully) be a standard factory sat nav/TV/DVD system coming up soon...:shifty:

You mean like the one a-top the dash (like the updated Galant)? If they made that standard on the GT (and possibly the LX) it would justify the price difference for models above the VRX and would help create differentiation between the models.
