I've always wanted to change my auto shifter but thought it wasn't as easy as a manual shifter to just swap and change it.
Is it as simple as 'unscrew' and swap? Just though there might be more too it.

Manuals are easy, knob's just a knob. If you're really hi-tech, some have a light inside.
Autos are totally different what with the button mechanism... haven't seen any
3rd party shifters for auto for sale, has anyone?
Was always thinking would be real cool to have one like on a MS Sidewinder joystick. :D

I was thinking of putting a 380 shifter on mine, they look pretty cool and would probably be the closest fit.

you're talking about the "Automatico" for $250 ya?

The "Combat Evo" above looks like a manual knob.
I suppose Momo would supply some fitting kit that will (hopefully) suit Magna.
Haven't seen any car with a changed auto lever meself yet.

$25 off Ebay - that's where you should look. Its a 2 piece screws-into-itself affair and the 'knob action' is that the whole lever depresses to activate the lockouts. Schmick!

you can easily use one of these gearsticks that the 3rd gen guys are talking about, all you have to do is add some more wire, and make the switch somewhere else.
:D Thats all there is to it!

I have made up an adaptor to fit any mnaual shifter you want and liek that one off ebay you push the whole thing down to change gear. Works really well on tippys
it is a aluminium sleave and a runner that attaches to the stick. The sleave is has an inverted channel that the grub screws on the runner use as an alignment. The shift grips the sleave and the whole unit is robust. a bit of loctite and you would never knwo that it wasnt a genuine part.
how to make it.
give me thios weekend to draw up the parts and then you might be able to find someone with a lathe to machine one up for you.
