Well my 6G72 can be proud of 1 thing... It can Out Drink a Gen 3 Commodore !!!
:bowrofl:
Anyway Anyone know how and How Much it is going to cost me to replace the Tempreture Sensor so I can loose the 2000 rpm Idle and Excessive fuel Consuption and Flooding on Start up !
a 96 TE 6g72 Should not be able to Consume a 15 Litres Per 100 in City Driving !

i think he means a o2 sensor. the one in the exaushst that reads the gases and if its stuffed causes the engine to run lean thus chewing more fuel than it should. sorry never had to replace a o2 sensor in a 3rd gen so im not sure on a price. but theres a few places u could try, if money is tight just go to the wreckers and pull one off a working car or repco should sell em or if moneys no object try a mistubushi. good luck

Could be temp sensor. Some vehicles have one which also tells ecu how much fuel to dump into the engine depending on engine temp as well as air temp. Dont always assume its the o2 sensor that can fail.

Air flow sensor and temp sensor thats in the TB or the intake pikes going to the TB, dictates how much fuel is going to get injected. So the amount of air going into the engine can meet the right amount of fuel.
How can an O2 sensor thats connected at the exhaust manifold tell the car how much fuel to inject? doesnt make sense does it.
The O2 sensor makes corrections that the temp and airflow sensor sets first.
Either way, any one of these sensor going down the drain could cause the problems.

ur right it cant tell how much fuel to inject, but i never said it could. jesse u guys jump quick.the reason my first post sounds like it does is cause magna buff made the first post saying it could be the temp sensor, so i suggested it could be the 02 sensor cause it reads the gases coming out of the engine and how much fuel is being burnt off properly so if its not working it tells the computer to run leaner. no need to be nasty here were all on the same team.:D

True true, sorry if I came off in that way, didnt mean it at all!
This prob sounds stupid but it really helps down the track, The other day I was doing some testing by disconnecting a sensor and starting to the to see how it behaves, then connect it back up and try another thing.
Because then when they do break down, its easy as to recgonize whats wrong.
Also i pulled apart the airbox where the air temp and airflow meter is and the walls were covered in a greasy substance, i cleaned it up a bit and it solved a few problems my car were having.
