Well being as my SQ division is becoming more and more competative, i need to pick up my game and get my install a little more custom. At the moment my tweeters are placed in the mids hold just on top of the dash, so they're pointing directly up to the windscreen - which isn't good. Now what I'm going to do is leave them in there, but make an angled pod to sit in there and then have the tweeters andgled forther away from the windscreen. So, what i need to know, is how the heck do i get mt tweeters out? I didn't do the origional install so i dont know how they got in there, i've had a look around and have come to two conclusions.
1. pull out the dash and go in from underneith
2. pull off the top covers thing and wholah!
i'm guessing it's number 2, seems logical, but i thought i'd double check that i'm trying to pull the right stuff off and that i dont need to unscrew anythign or take something else out first?
Any help would be apreciated :)
The circle panel that I think your tweets are mounted in should just pop out from the top. just get a small screwdriver under there. its real easy.
Can I suggest mounting the tweets on the A-piller. I have gained pretty good results there.
If you like PM me and I will show you my temporary mounting solution.

Well, in the verada I have a tweeter pod already made up - where the stock ones were.. but these are too big to fit in :P they fit nicley where they are.. they're jsut pointing the wrong way, hah.
yeah I have a VR (sports) which have the same mounts as the varada. I have the same problem + I think those mounts are a little close to your head anyway.
What splits are you running?

Yeah i just got 'em out with the screw driver then, cheers. I'm running soundstream LOS splits. I've kept them in the same spot but angled themmore toward the rear of the car and facing inwards.. pointing just before the eat next to them. I think it's sounding better already but there's less room than i thought there.. i migth leave them in the usual spot and jsut take them out for comps, hah.
yeah that was the problem I had. I was planning on using the angle mounts in that position but they just didnt fit. Your soundstream tweeters are quite possibly smaller though, when you include the surround on the Morels they are quite large.
Let me know what you decide, but I definately recommend the A-piller. It is quite easy to instal them there too. so dont worry about that. I was concened but it turned out to be rediculously easy.
I just wish I had the CAASQ events to get feedback on my system (I am in SA). My ears kind of get used to it wherever the tweeters point.
