Hey guys, I debadged the car and it left all the gummy stuff behind. So I used a kitchen sponge to try sand it away and of course in the process I stripped off a bit of paint!
So I want to fix up the paint, should I just sand down the left over glue and respray that portion where the badge was?
I need a bit of help here because I want it to match the rest of the paint.
So first of all, I need to get the paint, right? Then what do I do after that? Do i need to buy some clear coat and spray that over the top afterwards?
Thanks ppls! :D

Autobarn makes spray packs in the same (give or take a bit) colour as ya car. Just take in the paint code and they can make one up for ya. It tends to be more accurate than duplicolour.
Your not gunna get a supa perfect job though. :)
You'll need to rough up the area, clean it with wax and grease remover and spray over it misting off at the edges. Once dry give it a light sand with 1500 grit and cut & polish it.
It wont be perfect but it should look better than it does now.:)
If you sand through to bare metal when yur cleaning up the area before painting you'll need to hit it with primer first to get good adhesion. Remember to clean the surface before you spray.

prep the paint with wet and dry paper. i reckon 600 grade would do the trick and then go through the processors that ol fart said

:bowrofl: why on earth did you use a kitchen sponge :bowrofl:
you shoulda used fishing wire to cut through the gunk and then clean the gunk off with bug and tar remover...
too late now..
Use arcrylic primer, paint, and top coat.
Dont be folled into buying proper color matched paint and then the $2.50 Clearcoat.
Sand it down with 600 as TZA said, then spray with primer, paint, and lots of clear.

TUFFER is right prime it, then 2 - 3 coats of top color and lots and lots of coats of clear, although if you want the best finish take of the boot lid and respray the whole thing so that even if its not exactly the same as the body it is all the same on the boot. just an idea
