Well wat an interesting day that was to be had on the Somerset dam cruz, It was an awesome day, but the mount nebo section seems to have added to an escalating problem,
Of course after being a bit too hard on the brakes ( hey i used my gears as much as possible in the crappy auto lol) anyways of course nearly at the end of the run i had to pull over from the smokiness coming from my brake pads.

Well before the cruz i would stop and hear a really loud grinding sound from my front brakes. One would expect to inspect the brake pads to make sure firstly 1. nothing stuck between the pads and the rotor, 2. make sure they arn't metal to metal, 3. check the condition of the rotors for grooves.

Well all of the above have been done, i had both front tires off and the brakes, everything seems to be perfectly in check, i don't know what else i can look at, any in brissy willing to lend a hand or anyone with ideas /similar problems i'll be extremely happy for the help.

Joe

lol dam your situation doesn't get any better, mines not even when i brake hard, its just when i come to running pace to a complete stop, grinding sounds, there is only a small lip on the rotor but this in no way has any section to touch upon, hopeing someoen has a resolution!!

this is just an idea.
jack her up and grab the top of wheel with hand and the bottom with ur other hand and push and pull with ur hands to see if theres any play in ur wheel bearings , then do the same side to side. if theres even a little bit of play ur bearing might need replacing.

also are u sure ur cv's might be going?? take off the boots and inspect for wear. even might be a little chunk of dirt in there. so clean it out regrease and if u want do the boots too.
now after all ur checking and looking at the things i mentioned, thats when id buy some brake fluid and some metho-spirits and take ur calipars (1 at a time) off and pull it to bits . take out the cly and make sure it fine . give it all a good clean in the metho so pull it apart as nuch asa posible , helps if u have or can borrow a manual. once its all cleaned put it back together and lube up with the brake fluid and bleed ur lines. then if that dosent do it id just buy replacment rotors , cos if uve changed the pads and it's the same u know its not the pads.. good luck with finding the prob.
