I finally finished replacing my valve seals today :D

When I took the ducting off that goes between the throttle body and the air filter I found oil in the throttle body and that end of the ducting  . I wouldn't think this is good (or normal?). There is a rubber hose that goes between the rear rocker cover and the ducting. I'm guessing this is where the oil is coming from.

Anyone else seen this?

Cheers

there is a hose that comes from the rear rocker but i got no idea where it goes to.

when i decided to clean mine the TB and the intake pipe were both full of sludge, im pretty sure its normal after 12+ years

Especially if your a city driver.
I used to live in mountains south of adelaide and never got more than a little dust in my air filter there.
Now im in Newcastle NSW, and do a fair bit of driving about - amazing how short an amount of time it takes for your air filter to become blocked from all the extra oils and stuff it captures.
Must get around to stripping my TB down too lol.

um sound like your describing the reintroduction of oil vapors into the air stream??

This is normal the oil vapors are toxic and somewhat flammable so vapor from above the cams/ tappets is taken into the combustion cycle to burn it off; you buy oil catch cans to hold it which is better for cleaner combustion. Some catch cans have another filter on top which allows oil vapors to escape into air but its illegal again as a "fire" hazard; not likely

Someone could add to this...
