For the 2nd Gen owners... but anyone can answer.

I love my magna wagon and any other magna i see....

but i was just wondering what thing ( if any ) AMC members hate about them.

I really hate the fact that my magna doesnt have CUP HOLDERS!!!!.. it might be small but it really does piss me off...

lol i had the crazy idea of turning my 2nd gen into a ralliart, might still one day when i get my project car. But yeh i decided it'd be much easier and probably made more sense money wise to just buy a 3rd gen :).
It's good to see my idea being lived on through your car *tear*

thing i hated bout my old car was that it didnt come with foggies standard, plus the fact it was fwd (even though im driving another fwd...), wouldve been cool if that were awd

I find that taking out the little bin thing infront of the shifter is a perfect spot for drinks and cans :)

Umm yeah if the magna was RWD it would be much better, other than that i really don't have any issues with the car, its fairly decent all around. Comfy, nice amount of torque.. its a good cruising car :)

I've got a cupholder.

Turning circle is my only major gripe.

hmm... speaking of cupholders, the ones in my new car dont work up to their standards... i had two maccas medium cokes sitting in them and then wen i accelerated slightly faster than usual the drinks dropped! i liked my old cup holder, pulling out the ash tray- that hole held all my drinks snug :doubt:

The bad bits about my TS... no cupholders and the large turning circle.

Yeh turning circle and parking are probably my major gripes. Parked my gf's commodore first go, no need to reverse out and re-align 5 times lol. As long as the car park next to me is free i can do it in one go in the magna :).

no twin cam option
no cup holders
para's should have been on all models
no body kits
no ralli art option

I dont understand why people complain about the FWD. If it worries you that much, buy a commo or a falcon...

I have a falcon if someone wants to buy it :D

The only thing that I didn't like with my TR was that damm timing chain you would think that would have been fixed in the 2nd gens.

CONS
need better front suspension (less loss of traction)
cup holders
paras on all models
the lid on center console for tr

GOODS
never need servicing (havnt needed to do anything in over a year and a half service soon though)
manual unleashes sooo much power (mixed with fresh pbr clutch mmmmm smoke shows)
they are just awsome
fwd (saved my **** many a time instead of a rwd going sideways the fwd just understered slid perfectly round the corner)

I dislike the transmission but I'm not too worried about anything else whilst on my p's

Good car for its price, if ppl want cup holders go buy them from supercheap or something

My TS is my first car and i've driven Falcons, Commos, 380's and MR2's but the magna has a real nice feel to it. Sometimes i wish i had RWD but its fun to get sideways with the Handbrake and doing spins. However tractions is a problem so i just take it easy off the launch then i got a top speed of 210kph in 5th around 3500Rpm and its all gd mate :D

My only gripe is the lack of power in the 4cyl and the 4spd auto, the v6 manual of the second gen is great to drive, overall i love my 2nd gen magna owned 3 of them so far and havn't moved on.

Even though mine runs like *** at the moment, i cant say i dislike anything in it.
Would certainly prefer a manual again. And the turning circle on my old merc was just amazing, i swear you could get 80 degree wheel lock. My cul-de-sac is ok getting around it except when its garbage collection day. The truck leaves the bins in the middle of the street, and ive got to play dodgem's with the bins (twice they have won - damn rainy days). OH THAT REMINDS ME! REAR WINDSCREEN WIPER! Every car needs one of those at some point.

I guess mine is non standard as it does have cup holders (sort of). In the glovebox when you open it there is a place to put 2 drinks, but the lip is about 1.5cm high, so a can is about all it can effectively hold whilst driving in slo-mo. I generally use the ashtray holder, but then i lose it and damn that little green LED is BRIGHT lol.

Cruise control thats what i was thinking of. I so need to get cruise control again - maybe when i fix it up and runs nice again, ill see if i can get a kit fitted. Then again i might just hunt down the jaguar ive been pining for so long.
