Hi,

I'm a new guy here. Been lurking for awhile. My current ride is a 95 TS SE (2.6 IL4) but I signed up for a newish 2004 TL yesterday (only done 22k). Just waiting for my finance approval to come through, on account of the fact that I'm a displaced kiwi and haven't bought enough stuff on HP to get a credit rating.

I'm looking forward to taking it for some longish drives to see how she handles. I looked at a new Lancer at first but it really didn't take. It felt skittish and the ergos weren't the best.

Anyway, good to be here.

Cheers

Richard

Congratulations and welcome.

I have a 2003 TL VR-X, and I am very impressed with it, so I see no reason for you not to be impressed with your Magna. What model did you get?

I think it's the bog standard LS TL. The one with the traction control, 15" alloys etc. I'm almost through with the finance. I had to get a credit check done in NZ and now all they want is the lease agreement I have for my apartment.

I'm looking forward to it now. I think by tomorrow, it should be a done deal.

I changed from basically the same thing and it's an amazing step up. You'll be amazed at the difference, especially the quietness and smoothness.

I hear that the mileage is much better as well. The TS does well on the open road once you get her up to speed but in the city, I'm getting just about 300+ K to the tank. On the open road, I can get up to 450+.

The other problem with the TS that I read about is that parts are getting scarce. The whole immobiliser saga that some other members are having is making me abit nervous.

I'm supposed to do a few trips to Canberra as part of my job so it will be interesting to see how she does.

It sounds like it's all good from the mechanical side of things. I haven't read too much in the way of problems with the new engine so I've got my fingers crossed.

congrats on the purchase (well, its not 'purchased' yet - but close enough to it)

you'll certainly be VERY impressed/happy with it.. these are fantastic cars not only in terms of refinement but also mechanically.. they are very reliable..

what colour??
edit* mileage: expect to get at least 450kms pure city driving.. freeway/highway driving apparently it can nearly double

And now it looks pimpin :)

I've had a few issues warrenty and quailty control wise, but I'm one of very few so hopfully is smooth sailing for you and your new beast :)
