A stupid exterior mod question .

Alot of new cars coming out now have indicators in side mirrors but most of them are non compatible with 3rd Gen Magna's frame less windows. even no after market side mirrors fit to 3rd gens due to same reasons.

but recently I have seen 2 cars with 3rd gen style side mirrors with indicators, new Civic and Jazz.

so i was wondering if any one has thought going down this track????

they are m3 style mirrors but arent meant for magnas!! if your going down this track find someone who can make you a custom mount!!! plenty of guys can do it! you could probally do it yourself!! these are the pics http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/3827/481b9zj.jpg

just had a look at the honda website. I think you could definately make them fit using the magna base and the honda mirror.

As for those m3 mirrors. They wont suit no matter how much you mod them to fit. Theres a reason they made them for the m3. they belong on it.

is there a way to use the magna surround, cut the front, insert the amber/clear reflector and wire them up.... wiring shouldnt be a problem... just the cutting....

now whos wants to be the first to try....lol

Wasn't the idea of the mirrors on the door to create a wind tunnel between the mirror and the glass so that it aids in pushing the glass against the frame, and thus less wind leakage? :S

Aftermarket has done a few mirror "covers" with lights for some popular imports,
but haven't seen any that would fit Magna's mirrors.

Could be an idea to get a pair of those covers to chop onto a Magna mirror.

Do a search on the Hella website - there are ADR Compliant LED markers designed to fit into side mirrors (they would probably fit OK into ours).

Keeps the original mirrors (so your power mirrors work) and you don't need custom mounts.

Also keeps it LEGAL (unlike these aftermarket ones - they are not ADR approved).
