Edit: I've been e-mailing another member (they worked at MMAL for 21 years [Hi Derry]) who mentioned something about the last 4 digits of the VIN being another indicator of build date. So now included for the TW is the last 4 digits in the square brackets.

Eg. My car is 46,xxx something or rather, i know below 40,000 are series I and MY02, not sure what build number was the cut off, but it's higher than 40k.

To see which was the last Magna ever built. For no other reason but. Considering some of the other dopey stuff that's been put up on here I figured this was relevent.

So I figured.

I'll keep tabs on this thread & then put up a list (ongoing) of who has the last TF, TH, TJ, TL & TW. Could also break it down to the series if you include that in your post. So when you post include the last 6 digits of the VIN. I suppose in the long run it's more about bragging rights then anything else.

Yup, August 2000 - KJ Verada Wagon, build number 000538........geez they mustve been able to pump out alot - tis the same month the KJ/TJ series was released - so I have one of the first several hundred!

Yeah i should have said the last 6 number and not 4 DOH!
AWD numbers were split from Non AWD TW's...hence the difference

Dont know for the TLs/TWs but for the TJs, the VRX was actually an option code, not a VIN series.

VRX's had the same VIN combination as the Sports used.

Mine was actually first registered in Adelaide and was used by someone at the factory - only for a very short period as it was first serviced (1500k's) by Launnie Mitsu here in Tas......

Just a curious observation...

Last weekend was pulling out instrument cluster of our TH acquired Thursday.
On the metal panel on the dash was a little paper sticker "16JUN1999"...?
Car is a JUN/99 build.

Anyone know what this sticker is for - when was it applied?

Day that the shell got put on the line maybe?
