Hi,
Am in the middle of a complete engine re build of my '95 TS SE Wagon 2.6 EFI. The new pistons (rebored to 1mm over) seem to protrude about .010" above the block deck, I am told they should protrude to an extent, is this correct, anyone know for sure? And if so, how much is too much, bearing in mind this engine has the kidney shaped valve recess in the head design and the pistons reflect a small kidney shaped indent. Anyone know for sure? Thanx.:P

Dont forget to check valve clearences to the piston when valve is open. You dont want one of those suckers hitting the piston. All sorts of trouble.

Piston protrusion above deck is normal for the TS 2.6. It must not exceed 0.010" and this is correct. Thanks to those who responded but they are now in the engine and the clearance is in keeping with the gap created by the head gasket which is another 0.030".
Mo!!
