Hello,
I've been thinking about keyless entry for my Verada, as its already got central locking im assuming that it wouldn't be very expensive to 'add-on' the keyless entry feature? Surely someone has done this, how did you go about it and approximately how much did it cost?
Cheers.

I plan on adding an alarm to Pookys car (yes guys, I got it from ebay:D ) in the next week or so that has an output to operate the central locking.
Maybe that would be the cheapest way for you too. I'll give ya a yell (if I remember:redface:, I'm old dont forget) and tell ya how it went and how I did it.:D

What's the difference between central locking and keyless entry? My TJ unlocks the doors from the gadget attached to key ring.Is that keyless entry?

If you dont use a key to unlock the doors, then that'd be keyless entry :P It's a marketing term for Remote Central Locking.

i installed a steelmate jaycar alarm into my TS, that gave me keyless entry...pretty easy to do as long you know your way around the car and can read a wiring diagram
all up cost about 70 bucks

You would think so but nah mine is only central locking! maybe it was just the 96 Te's without keyless entry and then added the feature in the 97 model.
or maybe it did just come with the remote and i aint got it!!
My TE never came with central locking, but went down to strathfield and $50 later got myself central locking and then installed a after market alarm and then i had remote central locking.

Without central locking is a real shock as i thought even the pov pack TS 2nd gens had gotten central locking standard by 95/96.
Might be worth investigating Matty_j, might be able to get a standard TE remote and program it.

Yeah im pretty sure all 3rd gens came with remote locking, my car didnt come with the remote but i got one of ebay last week for 50, saving of 20 bucks haha. works perfect.
My Te didnt come with the remote or the central locking, only the keys. so like i said, bought a central locking kit (the alarm places wanted $500 for just the central locking to be installed on my car) and a alarm and hooked it up. Now my TL comes standard and I love remote central locking.
