Just a quickie,I have a 2 channel amp good to 2ohms and a dvc 2ohm sub.Would I be better off wiring each side of the sub to each channel and showing it 2ohms at each channel or would it be better to wire the voice coils in series and bridge the amp showing it 4ohms.
Which configuration would let me get the most from sub and amp.AAny help from those who know more would be appreciated.

By bridging the amp you are virtually doing the same thing as splitting the 4 ohms into 2 ohms per channel, which is exactly the same as running each coil seperately to represent a 2 ohm load to each channel...

When you bridge an amp, the connecting wires (+ and -) from the amp channels on a 2 channel amp change there respective polarity and phase in order to supply a higher current to the sub.

The "+" that is connected to the sub is run by one channel of the amp, and the "-" is run by the other. The two terminals ("+", "-") left over are then (internally) "bridged", and become a short circuit. This short circuit between the unused terminals creates a "floating" ground so that the amplifier's left and right channels get half the ohmage each; represented by the speaker.

So really you aren't going to achieve any benefit from running each coil individually. I'd probably use the amp in a bridged config, which will require less wiring and have less potential for user error to set up. :) This will result in giving the sub EXACTLY the same power as if you were to wire the two coils seperately....
