Went and got myself some new black 20 inch wheels. i am aware of the fact that not everyone likes the black on black theme, but i personally think the car turned out well. Lowered car 3 1/4 at the front and 2 1/4 at the back...

i kinda like it man... but i think you should spray paint the calipers and rotors black... everything that could posibly rust there.... it will look a lot better.... also make sure your tires are always shiny

Looks good, but like the others have said - really shows up the rusty brakes lol , so paint them (personally I'd go a metallic silver to break up the black), and it'll all be sweeeeetttt!!!!

But since i have the black theme i may make the brakes stand out or i may not. Am now thinking of getting the rear 284mm slotted rotor to go with the front.

The tyres are 225/35/20, thought they'd be too thin, but these wanglin (crap tyres) seem to stretch out to more of a 235.
Did the tyre size calculator on the net. going from a 215/60/16 to a 225/35/20 my rolling diameter is out by 0.2%! So at 100km/h im doing 100.2km/h CHEERING
with the 17s i was doing more like 98km/h instead of 100.
Car doesnt scrape going up or down driveway or on speed humps :D

Didnt end up rolling either guard, if i had of gone lower at the rear i would of had to. but i still wanted some drivablity...

if u can get a hold of them glue drying heat gun will be good or jus use a ver powerful hair drier and once the plastic goes soft push it back. or u can jus see when the tyre is scrubbing and jus cut that piece off or let the tyre wear it in.

ye iv done mine a bit with the hairdryer and sound has minimised. jus got to get a lil bit more inside the splash guard and then no more scrubbage. but it does take a while for the hairdryer to heat the plastic up.

same rims in 19's would of looked better IMO, but still, very nice :cool:

P.s. whos verada is that and what headlights are they running? they look xenion styles...

that's lil2l8's car. he modded is para's and made his own angel eyes.

as for the cutting...... yes, got my spray painter to do it when he installed my front bar. he just cut the front part of the plastic not the whole piece.

When I took the rims off, there was a **** load of scrape marks on the inside of the tyre. and the control arm had rubber scuff marks all over it.

Im thinking that ill just cut away the inside plastic guard tomorrow, the rubbing sound is starting to piss me off and not really impressing my passengers....

Any real worries i should have about getting rid of it besides the inside of my engine bay getting alittle more dirty and the odd stone getting thrown up in there??

first of all..... Nankangs!! - the pinnacle of performance....:doubt:

secondly..... the cheapest set of 19's (decent brand of tyre of course) are about 325 p/tyre

so maybe u might (and thats a big might) be able to get 20" nankangs for that price, but for any decent tyre ur probably lookin at adding another $100 to the $325 for 19".


oh and just so i can put my 2c into this slanging match:

i'd put 245's on my rims if they could fit them..... my old 19's had 235's that just fit over and i didnt like the look. plus, if your tyres fit your rims properly without it being stretched too much, the rubber will give you some scrape protection when you kiss gutters.

Hehe a few people have that reaction, yet ive been told they are great in warm/hot weather... personally i havent ridden on diff brands before so nfi.. they are fine for me and my driving :P

i think thats the side skirt, just the reflection makes it look like a bit haging down

I tried to fit 245's on both sets of 19s ive had so far... I lived with the rubbing on my TJ Sports but it was annoying... When it came to get rims for the ralliart we tried 245s again but same problem so i had them swapped for 235's and no rubbing what so ever...

Both cars had different brand rims and tyres so i dunno what the go was but 245s didnt work for me....

...Have you considered de-chroming the rest of the car too? (if not already done) - ie. around the windows, door handle, etc. Anything Chrome - made Black.
']nooooo, dont listen to GRDPuck, keep the chrome highlights otherwise a full black body will have no form just look like one big black mass with some chrome rings holding it up! plus chrome is shiny n shiny stuff rocks...
