Hey guys, I've decided that I want to buy a new(er) car than my TF.

I've been looking around, and seen MANY AWD TL's (2003/2004) for $19,990. I've looked at a couple, and dealers seem pretty flexible on the price which is good, but the 5 year warranty doesn't apply when the warranty changes hands from the original owner? It reverts back to a 3 year warranty. Which means that most of these cars only have a year or so left on them anyways.

Anyone know what the case of the warranty is? I'm not sure what to believe, as the dealer was extremely uncooperative (a young guy buying a 20,000 car).

Also, I've noticed that AWD VRX's are selling between 24-27k at the moment at dealers. Given that I am willing to spend around 22k, I imagine I should be able to get one if I find a desperate enough dealer. Unfortunately there just aren't enough of them around, so I'm not sure I have enough bargaining power at the moment.

So here's what I've come up with. I will try for a AWD VRX for around 22k, but if I cannot find one (need to buy a new car within about 6 weeks), I will buy a regular TL AWD for around 17k with 20-40,000k's. With the remainder I will do a few modifications to the car to give it a sportier look.

Anyone know what modifications etc are available for AWD TL's, that avoid voiding warranty? The dealer says basic body modifications won't void anything, but performance modifications will.

In essence, I want some wheels/rims, an exhaust, the car lowered, and perhaps a subtle spoiler.

Anyone know what exactly is available? IE. For rims, is it as simple as buying rims that would regularaly fit a Magna, or does the AWD setup mean different rims?

Are there any general quotes etc for TL Magna exhausts. I'd like to get a dual setup.

General prices on lowering a Magna?

And what sort of spoilers or bodykits are available? I like the look of the VRX, so I guess that would be awesome, but I'm unsure if that is a kit that is available?

Thanks for any and all help, I know its a lot of questions, but I really have no idea about the TL's.

On a side Note: The dealer offered me $2500 for my 1997 TF

I know that dealers offer way less than going rate, but I have someone lined up that will pay $9,000 flat for my TF... thats a huuuuge difference.

ahhh... no...my understanding is the 5yr warrantee transfers...the 10yr part (for the drivetrain etc) doesnt...but the 5yr does.

u could always go a TJ2 AWD... the Sports AWD is got all the applicable VRX bits...except the bodykit (which sounds like u might be adding/changing anyway)... and TJ2's are cheeper (and better looking :D)...

and yes...VRX kits are available seperately...

exhaust shouldnt be a prob...lowering...dunno (could be...would be if u had any drivetrain or suspension probs).... but at the end of the day ...any mods can only be held liable for possible problems in associated areas...ie if u mod ur engine...they cant blame that for non-engine related probs...

rims are the same size/offset etc... my TJ2 AWDsports has teh same rims as previous veradas (but depending who u ask...there may be issues with wot size can go up to on awd's...ie TJ2 AWD's where only sposed to have 16x6 rims for 'reasons'...)

hope this helps.

You can look for VRX's with $29990 on it and talk them down to that price. I did. There very flexible on prices, mine had 13000ks on it to
