similer costs but if you start pushing more than 220fwhp your CV's will be getting replaced weekly not to mention box, clutch ect
I have around 20more HP than KB but is power is generated alot smoother
4k for engine 1k to drop in and out 1k on clutch/cv's
is there a way to make the cv's stronger, i was looking at the engine swap for the 6g72 DOHC TT which is around 320+hp at the flywheel i think. dont know what it would put out at the wheels but i would think that the car could take it, would need a heavy duty clutch plate, slotted brakes and better pads (stock magna brakes are crap :doubt: ), and most importantly for me to have the damn left engine mount moved forward and the v6 gearbox (stupid 4 cyl engine bay having different placed engine mount and gearbox).
Gearbox should take the power considering its the same gearbox used in the 3000GT apparently, however clutch plate needs to be replaced with a heavy duty one

Well I just got mine replaced around 5000km ago being NEW with a 12month warrenty haha
With the clutch a exedy button clutch would be good just might be a bit hard on the gearbox otherwise you could just stick with organic

320HP at the flywheel is 211 kw at the flywheel with is around 180kw at the wheels
I think the Twin Turbo setup would produce alot more power after a tune and boost raised

CV's mate
there isnt a place that would sell better cv joints that u know of by any chance....................................i need some hope
ok output for the engine is about 206kw at the flywheel

Just contact a CV place and ask for some strengthened ones they must have done it before, but they gave me a warrenty even knowing mine was TURBO
Buy a 3000gt you can get them in for 14k now
i dont really like the space in the 3000gt, thats why i was looking at the transplant. And still am, have u had any gearbox problems with your turbo set up, i dont think that the power should do anything to the gearbox......but theres always a chance

No the box is ok but the turbo done by rpw to Justins vehicle managed to chew through like 3
If you drive fine and dont launch it and drop gears alot you should be ok considering your box is in good condition at the end of the day if a box lasts you 10,000k thats good and when it blows just pick a recon up for 300bucks and drop it in hahaha. I think like that with the engine rebuild the astron with forgies will cost you 3k blow up a engine every 20,000km replace it for 500 from a second hand one with decent compression and drop it in yourself on a sunday arvo hahaha
Also putting a button clutch in the car would damaged the gearbox so aviod that and go organic

Im dont know so much about clutches, i know how they work but i dont know what u mean by organic as opposed to button. Do u mean that orgainc eases it on (like a stock one) and a button clutch instantly presses it against the flywheel (Just what popped into my head when i read it)

Button is ON/OFF good for racing and highway trips and puts minor pressure on your driveline
Organic is a upgrade of a stock clutch with stronger components pressure plate ect
Organic clutchs can handle around 300fw/rw HP which most magnas dont exceed
Twin plate is the other option but that requires a new flywheel opposed to getting your oridinary one machined
and also lighting your flywheel is a great idea
