Just looking for people’s preferences & ideas for the scoop placement options (see below).
Not really wanting the "argh, don't do it! It's ugly” comments - although I'm sure I'll get some (hence the last Poll Option).

I picked the scoop up a while back (2005). It’s made of steel/metal – not plastic or fiberglass. It was laser cut from the bonnet of a car – *edit* Holden HT Monaro (gasp). *edit*

It’s quite long, low & sleek. My idea was to get a panel shop to fit it and of course have it painted etc. I have not been to a panel shop to find out a cost or even if it’s possible in either of the two positions.

The opening has a separate metal piece (see below) which I may need to open up? The holes (slots) seem quite restrictive and I was hoping to (maybe) use it as a CAI option ??? This bit can come off, but leaves a big ugly hole. May look at it to see if these slots can be cut to leave one opening (then mesh that).
Another idea I had was to get this opening part chromed (it’s metal) – not sure tho.

Anyway, take a look, post replies, comments, ideas, whatever…

If the calling of the rice is so strong you HAVE to use it:doubt: , on the side is the best option. I reakon it'd look pretty good once it's all put in properly and it'd line up pretty neatly to make a cai. You may as well use it for some purpose if you HAVE to have it.

Anyone recognise the scoop - anyone know what it's off (Make/Model car)?

Its not really big enough for any cool air gains as such...

Guess its just up to you, personally not my thing. but that said it could look alright once done and painted the same colour.

Funny thing is, my first car (HQ Premier) came with those wheel trims lol

I think the TS bonnet might be too narrow and angled to handle two of these.

My hat is off to you and anyone who can do this photoshop work. Wish I had learnt it - maybe I will one day.
Any chance of you giving the other ideas (options 1 & 2) a go to see what they look like fitted & painted? This would give me a better idea of what they will look like.

The pics in your previous post doesn't do it justice, the proper installation will have just
the raised section (with the scoop hole) visible, the flat sections should be under the
bonnet.

Is GIMP hard to use?

Same concepts as photoshop, which are applicable to most layer-based graphics programs. The main concept to understand is that of layers, think of it as having transparencies stacked on top of one another, each with certain elements of your final picture on it. Plenty of tutorials out there. And the GIMP is free, so nothing to stop you experimenting!

I would put it on backwards if i HAD to put that scoop on. I wish i had photoshop installed.

theres a few "gill" options...
ones that spring to mind are the HZ's and that of the new VZ. I cant think of any others, although something custom would look teh shiz:)

Why dont you actually put it to good use.

Put it side of the airbox and run some piping to connect it up, so then you'll have an awesome CAI.
