i have a 96 magna te altera. i want to replace the rear stock speakers. is it as simple as taking them out and putting new ones in with the existing wiring

im no audio intall.. but when i did mine (before i isntalled the amp) i just took the old ones out.. put the new ones in.. cut the stock speeker wire adapter off.. and put female terminals on and connected them up.. pretty simple really

Yeh you cant just unplug the old, plug in the new. You'll need to either solder the wire to the speaker terminal after cutting it or do as above and put on a spade connecter thingy.

What?
Remove the old speakers. Cut the adaptor off that was connected to the OEM speakers. And solder up the wires(2) to the speaker.

Spade Terninals are the Easiest way
10cm Speaker wire, With Two Male Spade Connecters that Plug Straight into the factory Plug the Other connects to your New Speakers..
Cutting the Plug off makes it look dodgey when you go and have to sell your car as Chopped up Factory witring looks Dodgey..

yeh, just make an adaptor, ie. 2 males on one and 2 females on the other (spade terminals) oh and ill let you figure out which is male and which is female (hint: one has a "hole")
