Hi guys,

I got TF Magna 3.0L V6 and its done 200,000ks. I release that car smokes more than usual and smells like burned oil so it’s time to change valve stem seal. I need few tips from someone who knows or done it before how to change them. I got OHV spring compressor and air hold valve hose to connect to my compressor but I am not sure how much compressed air to pump in combustion chamber to hold the valves and the position of the piston?
I read somewhere on this forum that it should be 30Psi of compressed air and piston should be on TDC just wondering if this is correct?

Also about buying stem seals, what is the good place in Melbourne to buy them in reasonable price and what is the good brand?
ACL brand comes with 12 seals in one set but I need 24 so I can just buy 2 set ($65 per set therefore $130 for 24 seal, is the cheapest I found).
According to Mitsubishi intake and exhaust stem seal are different so it confuses me when buying ACL or other aftermarket brands.
Can someone please help me out with these problems?
Thanks a lot guys I appreciate it.

I'd grab a Gregory's guide before you start, as it'll tell you in detail how to do it. You'll also need to find out if your engine has different seals for intake and exhaust valves, as the 3.5L does. I think the intake valves' stems are slightly larger in diameter than the exhaust, and you don't want to find out halfway through that you need to drive to get more seals...

its safe to use upto 150psi since thats the compression it should have
