Depends which insurance company you go through. With RACV (RACQ up there) you're not allowed to drop more than 30mm (SP lows). Some just say as long as it doesn't break any laws, but pretty sure superlows would come close to the 100mm off the ground rule, and i'm sure theres a maximum you can drop it legally (maybe 30mm?).

Does anyone know if its legal or ilegal to put Kings Super Lows Springs all round on a 2002 Magna TJ sedan in Brisbane QLD and would the car still be covered bye insurence company??

its legal but depands on how high your car sits of the ground. a lot of people here have super lows all around and are still covered. which company are you with? i have super lows at the front and lows in the rear and im still covered by my insurance company. call ur company up and ask them if you will be covered. i told them i have changed my springs to stiffer springs for towing purpose but it has lowered the car a little and they are fine with it.

Check on your QLD rules and regs.

In SA theres the 100mm rule, where fixed parts of the car must be at least 100mm above the deck. But also you cannot lower a car anymore than by the manufacturers specifications. Generally there is no such thing and it's a blanket 30mm. This is measured from the centre of hub striaght up to the first point of body work.

Super lows are a 50mm drop and are straight up illegal. Even lows may be illegal, depending on your car. With lows at the back, mine comes out as being more than 30mm lowered.

Insurance will have to prove though that these springs caused the accident in order to void your warranty.

Superlows are 60mm for kings, 50mm for lovells (i think).
Kings SP lows are 30mm (what i have, definitely legal/insurable),
Kings lows are 45mm. So some insurance companies wont even insure lows.

Hmm I should have a front and rear set of Kings Low's arriving next week, I sincerely hope they are not illegal although I think it would be pretty stupid if it was.

Also in regards to super lows all round, I didn't think you could get a Super Low spring set for the Rear's on Magnas?

lovells make them, but i dont think the drop is as far as kings superlows (eg. 50mm instead of 60mm.)

im 60mm lower at the front than standard and 50 mm lower at the rear, RACT which are the same as RACQ RACV .

Im insured but it costed me an extra 100 bucks year so for full comp i pay 460 Rating 1 under 25

Insurance companies only need to prove that, had they known of the modification to your car, they would've refused to cover it, or that they would have covered it at a lower value. They can refuse to pay, or reduce your claim on these grounds.

GUYS! please be very careful giving legal advice in a forum.... it can come back and bight you on the ***! Especially advice on ANY type of insurance, unless you are qualified to offer that advice. If you are qualified, you must also state your afsl number and your authorised representative number.

BTW.... Your insurance company can never void your warranty!

Yeah I think really people, its best to TELL your insurance company the truth about things. Best you find out BEFORE an accident.

If you believe advice given to you by a Victorian about a Queensland law, posted on a West Australian Website then you are fishing for the answer you want to hear.

There is a big difference between Legal and insurable.

Make sure you are referring to is what you actually want to know.

And you don't have to be qualified to give advice. Hell look at John Howard.

lol oops....I meant policy

Interesting....thats not what I was told by a broker, but interesting none the less. Although I was told this about a different mod.

Taking it every letter of the law, insurance cover would be void on 80% of the cars on the road due to general road worthiness and non conformance to ADRs? Anywho...off topic...I'll shh
