Just bought 18 by 8 wheels for my te, I have got super low kings in front, and low kings in rear. Just wonderin if i will have any problems with fittin the wheel onto my car, and need advice on what size tyre will fit the wheel without causin problems.
Cheers Kyle.

you're probly lookin at a 235/40 tyre or a 225/40. and you wont have any problem as long as the offset is correct.

i have king super lows at the front and king lows at the rear and have fitted 18 by 8.5 with 235/40/18 rubber and all is good. but u might have to push back or even trim a little of your left splash guard coz on full lock to the right your left wheels me scrub your splash guard but its no biggie. and from my guess 235 is a littly wider then 225 ( i think)

Thanks :)
Cheers for that info,
But what is the diffence between the 225 and the 235?
235 is the sectional width of the tyres in millimetres. 40 is the tyre sidewall height as a
percentage of sectional width. So 40 means sidewall height is 0.4 * 235 = 94mm.
0.4 * 225 = 90mm.
So a 235/40 is 1cm wider and has an 8mm bigger overall diameter than a 225/40.

thanks mate, That put it in a language i can understand, English :D
Anyone know where i can get cheap Tyres that arnt **** tyres?
Your big problem will be the load rating with your TE. Your tyres will need a load rating of 95, which is fricken high and makes tyre choice hard.
I run ****ty nankang ultra sports (235/40 on 18x8.5), but are one of the few that are legal. Kumho Ecsta sport are also ok i think.
But seeing as you have 18x8 rims, that means you should be running 225/40 tyres.....and that means you'll be pushing **** up hill trying to find 225/40 tyres with a 95 load rating.
A load rating is give to a tyre that describes how much weight it can carry. Your tyre placard on your car says what tyres you need to be running. It will say you need 95 load rated tyres. This is enforcable and you can be defected for not having tyres meeting the load requirements.
On the flip side, you have 18inch rims on a TE where the max allowed is 17", so your gonna be defected anyway, and if you wanna go play with your safety then so be it.

Put Nankangs on, there cheap and very grippy, excellent value for the price of $150 a tyre. Oh that's 235/40/R18, they'll go on a 7" wide rim to.

wait till you've had them for a couple of months...... and see where that grippyness level is at! there's a reason why they're cheap......

I've done 40000ks on these tyres now, fronts are half worn, rears less a a quarter. The grippyness of these tyres are still great, I think a 2.1 60ft time at the drags speaks about the grip enough
