Hey guys.
I try pressing the horn these days and it only comes on (faintly) sometimes.
Does that mean it's time for a new horn?
Am I able to use a horn from a different car?
Or should I just get it replaced with a normal mitsu one

try getting an old one from an old merc or something, as they are super *** loud...
way better than even a new mitsu one.
My horn works occassionally, but when it stops workin properly its just so faint u have to have your head out the window, no other sounds and have the bonnet up. So i figure i'm gonna replace it, im just getting anyone form any sotre selling horns, im looking for a really loud deep one, and it doesnt really matter what it comes from as long as it takes the 12v fine. It fitting doesnt matter, i'll just make a bracket.

That's silly.
Why would you want to have a train horn as your car horn.
People will look at you like wtf :doubt:
No offence lol

Airhorns are VERY illegal but hilarious. Seriously the novelty doesn't wear off.
I didn't put the horn on it came with the car. I piss myself laughing whenever i press the horn.

the ADRs say your horn must keep the same pitch/tone all the time,
novelty musical horns are illegal IF THEY ARE THE *ONLY* HORN ON YOUR CAR.
so... use a toggle switch and keep the original horn installed & working too :D
If you want your car sounding like a German marque or a Verada, get a twin-tone horn.
Can get "windtone" types or the 2 or 3 trumpet airhorns with a airpump (non-musical).
Airhorns with the airpump may draw more current than your OE horn relay can pass
so it might be best to wire in an additional relay for the new horn.
Love airhorns...
Got a pair of FIAMMs which I'm thinking of sticking into the TH but haven't
worked out where to bolt it though. Needs quite a bit of room and I don't
want to stick it anywhere near the front bumper - too vulnerable.

So are single-tone airhorns legal? The number of times I've wanted to blast the s@#t out of some moron, only to have a weak "meeeeeeep" emitted... (most cars, definitely not magna specific).

Single/twin/triple-tone airhorns are all legal as long as they stay the same tone/s
for the whole beep ie not "musical". Twin tone horns are standard for "luxury" cars.
Magna 3rd gens only have a single beeper pointing straight at washer reservoir,
the TH has quite pathetic single tone but still pretty good volume.
Spent today tootling in the Verada... ahh twin-tone luxury!
Paarped an idiot on the freeway and he got the message quicksmart.
(he was doing <90 in the fast lane and I tailgated him for over a minute with
full 4 lights blazing, when I pulled left to undertake he changed lanes too :doubt: )
Gotta get the TH airhorn'd asap.

You want something to blast the **** out of someone? Hornblasters to the rescue. Google hornblasters. These are 'people' who have fitted full blown train horns to their vehicles and enjoy scaring people with it. On the website are quite a few videos of them doing it.
Their contact us section of the website is divided up into two parts: fanmail and hate mail. When I say hatemail, I mean - it's lucky both parties are separated by the internet.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be a d@#khead about it, it's just annoying when people completely ignore you when you hit the horn...

Sometimes you just need something that cuts thru the 'doof doof' deaf idiots. :P
Alternately there are "PA System" type driver/amplifiers with a siren speaker.
The control box has various different tones and some have a Mic input too.
(voice your own beep*beep*beep*beep as long as your grandma's not within hearing)
