hey guys, i was wondering where in the boot of my 3rd gen verada (98 model) i should hook up the ground wire. this is semi-urgent asd im in the middle of the install. thanks heaps guys..

well....i earthed mine to the RHS of the boot, on the floor, near the tail lights.

You can see there are two bolts there (hex bolts, with washer and phillips head) just bolting nothing on the floor. They're there to cover up holes basically. Remove them with a socket wrench, sand and bolt.

another alternative is the parcel shelft, where the baby restraint goes, but it requires u to get a bolt with the same diameter and thread parameters.

I used the bolt on the floor that eek is talking about. Sand the paint away first!
Works a treat.

i took of the protective cover thing that lines the base of the boot lid bottom bit... (helpful).. and theres a big hook which is used for the boot latch.. theres two screws there, sand and clamp it down under the bolts.

cheers guys.as a temporary measure i just used one of the screws going into what looked like the chassis. sofar its held up, but if not ill use the ones you talk about

yes.. lovley nice tar substance on mine.. perfect stuff to ruin a brand new white pair of shorts :rant: (yes i was crawling in the boot/back seat hehe)

seeing as though i dont have a heat gun and hairdryers are useless. Being the intelligent person i am, i decided to leave my car out (janurary heat) for about half a day....it softened the tar a little, but DAMN it was hot in the boot. Before I had my boot install i could fit at least 2 bodies in there comfortably.
