I found these today at a camping store (Lloyd's in Fyshwick) for $14 http://www.sutars.se/1218.htm
I've wanted to put an outlet in the back of our wagon for a while now (for our 3-way fridge), and these ones look alot nicer than the usual replacement cig lighters at Supercheap...
Just needs a 28mm (ish) hole to be cut and the wiring.
At this stage I think I'll put it just behind where a cargo blind would attach (we have a cargo barrier but no blind). If all goes well I'll look at putting one or two in the bottom of the centre consol, facing the rear seat.
The centre consol outlet available from Mitsu costs $70 and you loose the coin holder, so I'm pretty happy with this solution (well I am so far)!

I used 2 of them in the back of a VW Transporter breakdown van. One was fused at 10 amps and the other one had a diode and was fused at 15 amps for the jump battery pack. Waeco used to have a proper heavy duty socket and harness for fridges, can't find it list now.

Just needs a 30mm hole to be cut and the wiring.

Just be careful you don't end up draining the battery.
I believe there are some types of adaptors that will automatically cut-out if the voltage drops below a given mark.

It's finally in. Took three hours yesterday afternoon and it works and looks like it belongs :)
I just tapped into the cig lighter circuit so no probs with draining the battery, as that circuit doesn't work without the key turned on. The fridge pulls 6 amps, so the lighter fuse is fine to cope with that and the mobile or ipod charger at the same time (its a 15 A circuit).
I roughly measured if one or two would also fit in the central console, facing the middle rear passenger's foot space. There's about 40 mm of space between the bottom of the lidded console box and the floor, so these should fit fine (30 mm hole required). That would let us have a charger plugged and in there and be able to have two travel mugs in the drink holders up front. Be good for a DVD player too :)
