Hadn't thought of it before, and a search hasn't turned up any info; is a third-gen bumper cover compatible with 2nd-gen, specifically the front bar? From my basic observations between 2nd and 3rd gen wagons, the body looks very similar, just some different styling in some places... Then again their lights slant forwards rather than backwards, so there may be differences in the bumper to take this into account...

I think the 3rd gen bumper has more of a curve at the front, whereas the 2nd gen is pretty straight, if that makes sense lol. You'd have to compare widths of the vehicles, might possibly be able to modify a bar to fit.

This would be very interesting indeed if it can be done and how it would look once it is done.

I had a look at my front end tonight, theres no way in hell it's going to happen. The front bar on a 3rd gen sticks out too far in the middle, kinda pointy, way more pointier than the 2nd gen anyway.

can you do a chop anyway. just to purge my curiosity.
