I Have recently read a couple of threads concerning wing. i would like to put one on my car but dont noe which one to choose from. i have a 96 te altera. i have to lowered it or anything what so ever atm it is complete stock beside an aftermarker headunit.

i would worry about getting your car lowered first and some mags!! worry about the wing afterwards, imo the magnas look better without a wing but thats just me, watever tickles ya fancy. i would go for the TJ2 wing. :D

Yeh for sure. Te-Tf should all be de-winged. they look ten times meaner without one.

if you had to get one, id go the VRX wing.. they dont look that bad on TE/TF's imo..

I would Look up some of the Aftermarket Wings from SSV or Talon..


I had a Talon Touring wing on my Mondeo and I wouldnt Hesitate to get another one..

Lower it and see what you think. All a wing will do is:
- Add wind resistance
- Make the car look higher than it actually is
- Disrupt the lines of the car

The pros are:
- Easier to guage the end of the car when reversing
- 5kg of downforce at Mach1.3

Up to you, but personally I'd spend the $500 (educated guess) it will cost to source and paint it on a straight through muffler and K&N panel. It will bring much more enjoyment :)

3rd gens looks better without wings imo. They look PHATTER and LOWER without them! Dump the biatch and whack on some big rims and then see what u think!

Magnas look phat without wings. However the Verada looks better with a nice wing due to the protruding rear bumper IMHO.

Out of the photo's you have posted, I like numbers 1/2 (silver) and 3 (red). I think I like those without the centre column bit. ...and I like the Evo & Ralliart type too.
But then I like wings (big wings). :cool:

also.. im really starting to like the wings like on the 380VRX/GT's and the latest mazda3 SP23's.. also seen them on statesmans/caprices etc..

they just add a touch of class yet dont interfere with the free-flowing lines of the boot..

This is the only wing I like on any magna because it makes the bubble boot of the TL/TW go away.

I also like the VRX only in these two models because the Colour coded lights and chunky grille make the Smily Face go away and the kit makes it look less like a Duck. :D

You so do! It makes it 50 times faster, cooler and more powerful! It helps you with parking and it scares the bejeebus out of you everytime you look in your mirros for the fist 4 months you drive the car. On a more serious note, i dont like the sie profile of my car with it on but from the rear it makes the thing look mean.

yeah i'd have to agree with a few people in this thread in saying that a wing will ruin(your car's look. Especially with stock rims/ride height, i don't think it will look normal with a wing on it. I'd definetly grab some king springs and dump it (approx.$300), then maybe get your windows tinted with the other $200, if you wanted to spend $500 on cosmetics for your car.

But if you must rice, then i would try to get one of those spoilers that looks like a slight extension of the boot. Like, a small lip. Nice and subtle, will help you reversing(won't block your vision), and will flow with the lines of your Te much , much better. In my opinion.

PS. i have to warn you though, modifying your car will probably be an addictive and expensive hobby ! but , there really isnt any other way is there ? hehe

Mine has a TJ VRX wing and it goes very nice with the full body/mirror colour-coding, lowering and mags :)
