hi guys just wondered if the computer in a auto is the same as a manual on a series 1 fuel injected magna?? i'm wrecking a mk1 just like to know what to keep for spares for my buggy?ps, are the cv's the same aswell, thanks ken

manual computer is different to auto computer isnt it? Doesn't need to tell the manual when to shift after all.

why would the computers be different?, if your talkin about the main ecu then yes there the same becuase you have a seperate TCU for the auto trans
the wirings different in the auto loom for the ecu tho because the auto loom bypasses the starter wire to the ecu threw the inhibitor switch, so you cant start it while in gear

I am not sure if they are the same or not. I think from looking at the wiring diagram and how things work that they are the same. Remember the TCU is a seperate unit.
At the same time, idle speeds, etc are different auto to manual so there may be a difference. I do know however that a manual ECU will run an automatic car
