Coming home last night I took the corner a Tad fast and the rear sounded like it slided.. then my E-Brake light came on and the car levelled out..

I have a 1996 TE and I highly doubt Traction control or Stability control was installed on a 6g72 Manual Executive!

The Hand Brake at no point was pulled on and the Light and Wiring is all fine

What could have caused the Brake light to have come on..

If your takling about the brake light in the instrument cluster then possibly because of low brake fluid.

Check your brake fluid level. Im not 100% sure but on some cars brakefail and the handbrake lights are the same.

check the fluid dude, or better yet, since its brakes, get it professionally done and bleeded if it does turn out to be the problem

A little off topic, but you all seem to know what you are talking about!

Can you still have "fun" with an e-brake?

sure can, if its up to scratch, my experience with 3rd gens is that the brake is crap.

Brakes Check and 100% Ok

Brake Fluid is fine with no sign of Bubbles.
