hey guys,

ive searched the forums but still cant find the info im looking for.

got a 99 TH sports with 180,000 on the clock now, and the clutch is starting to slip like a b*tch and its pissing me off.

I need to know:

1. What brand of clutches are decent (Exedy, Extreme etc.)
2. Stock, Heavy Duty, or Super Heavy Duty - is there a benefit going SHD?
3. Button?
4. Organic or Inorganic
5. Rough Price

and most importantly:

6 Can i do this myself if i put a weekend aside, how much work is it? and how much can possibly go wrong?

I got an Excedy Extreme heavy duty clutch off Megatron for $600. It's a 5-6 hour job for a mechanic and is a pretty big job. Best clutch i've ever had.

it is a big job and u should get yur fly wheel machined aswell so better off spending the money getting a mechanic to do it

Yeah it's a fairly big job and you'll need stuff like an engine winch which, if you were only doing the job once, would end up costing more to hire/buy than taking it to a mechanic. I would suggest taking it to a mechanic.
For selection of the clutch, are you intending to do big mods? Cos you really don't need to go a button clutch if you're keeping the car standard. It'd make it a complete ***** to drive day to day in the city IMO.
