I had a bit of a senior moment the other day when I was cleaning my car. I accidently picked up my polish rag and proceeded to clean my windscreen which you can imagine, has left me with a smeary windscreen.
If you have any suggestions on what to use to remove the polish and restore my windscreen to crystal clear vision would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Paul.

You should be just able to get a clean cloth and clean the polish off like you do when polishing your car. SOme people even polish their windcreens because it gets rid of all the deep grit and dirt a wash wont get rid of.
If it's the outside you are talking about and you are still unhappy, i would suggest going down to supercheap auto or some equivelent and buying some RainX. It is great for getting rid of any unwanted gunk on your windows and it gives you great vision when raining.
Cant recommend the stuff enough.

Diluted metho (methylated spirits) or windex should be able to get it off if until you can get hold of RainX.;)

Do not use Windex - the amonia in the Windex will damage tint if applied to the inside of the windows. General no-no.

Thanks guys. I have used Rainx before and I totally agree, it's great stuff, but I wasn't sure about its ability to clean off polish. Anyway I will give it a go. Thanks.

There's no ammonia in genuine brand name Windex any more - hasn't been for years. The other thing you can use to remove polish is - with wet screen and wet sponge - toothpaste! Rub all over, paper towel off, rinse.

Oh right. Well I guess you'd want to make sure your using the re-formulated windex and not the original from a a year or so ago.

Never tried RainX as a cleaner yet... bit extravagant at $7/little bottle??
Use it regularly, but last time when I applied it (2 days ago) it caused a skin rash.
Rash only on the right hand, was holding the bottle in the left... gotta wear gloves next time.

Best thing to get the polish off your glass is the K&H Wax & Grease Remover.
Can buy it from your local car paint store or Autobarn/KMart, its used
for prepping the surface before painting.

I was wondering if a clay bar with that spray that comes with it would do this job too? Would be handy to have one around all the time.

Clay bar is not for picking up grease; for $30 ea I wouldn't wanna try.
As for the Meguiars Quik Detailer spray... its pretty much a $15 bottle of Windex.
Buy Polyglaze Waterless Wash it does the same job, or even just a squirt bottle of water.
Its just to lubricate the clay bar to glide over your paintwork.

Solution = don't use it on the inside then.....:D
Besides, the windscreen shouldn't have tint on it anyhow.

Nobody has mentioned the humble potato yet....lol
Seriously, its an old remedy but works wonders. Just grab a spud and cut in half and rub over windscreen. Something to do with the acids in the potato neutralises whatever greasy residue is on your screen.
Ive tried it many times and I can gurantee it works. The only problem is tht you hve to give the windscreen a nice wash after application. lol
Now stop laughing and dont flame me till you have tried it.
Ohhh.....and did I mention how cost effective this method was....
