Just wondering if anyone on here has a KW wagon? I was following a wagon the other night and it seemed to have different tail lights on it.
They looked factory but it was like the difference between a KE sedan and a KJ sedan they way they are more seethrough and classier looking.

Anyome else seen this or was i dreaming on the way home from a late night?

Thanks

i'd say dreaming :p

i'm pretty sure the wagons lights didn't change the entire 10 years they were being built!
what a waste really, as the only way to tell the model of a wagon is the badge font!

Sweet. Though that might be the case.

Yeah they didnt do much with the wagons but they are still a good looker i think. I guess they thought dont mess with a good thing.
A good Mitsub wagon looks better than a commy and a falcon doesnt even score.

oh hell yes. i though a taillight upgrade similar to the VY2 wagons would have been nice (clear case with circle light) but the VY2 numberplate surround is horrible! go tha magna wagons :D

strange really, as dad drives a TE Wagon, theres no real difference when i see the back of a TH-TW wagon, gonna de-badge his, and maybe colourcode the skirts and it will look 10 years newer!

Actually there are very subtle differences....I guess owning a wagon makes you aware of these differences....

TE-TF - They were the same.

TF-TH - The garnish on the TH had "Magna" on it, with the word behind a glossy translucent panel.

TH-TJ - The garnish became colour coded and was returned to the plain old style. The small sized Mitsubishi logo badge is used instead of the "Mitsubishi" badge, the "Magna" badge replaced the where the "Mitsubishi" badge used to be.

TJ-TL - The "Magna" badge and the model variant (ES/LS etc.) badge were moved from being in the middle to being at the bottom of the tailgate. Garnish wasn't changed.

TL-TW - No change.

Now this is a little more than just a subtle difference though (i'm still figuring out whether it looks good):

The numberplate inset is filled in, presumably so it doesn't look empty when those tiny number plates are used in export models. There's also a chrome lining around the number plate area which oz-spec wagons don't have.

It's a little different, but I'm not sure I like it yet. It just brings into question now whether the KJ Verada reverse lights would fit in that space.... (whether that would suit the look anyway is also questionable still)

Is that an oz export or a Japanese built diamante?

As far as I'm aware, all waggons where oz built (including ones exported to Japan as Diamante waggons. This is due to the fact the waggon was a later addition designed by MMAL.

Oh right, noticed it had the same rims as our oz specs.

Out of interest, I know MMAL was sent the only tooling for the fuel tanks for use on AWD variants - did we start building the Japanese AWD variants out here and export back, or did we start sending Japan fuel tanks instead?

I have seen a wagon with the kj rada t/lamps in the tailgate, and actually tried to get one when in japan last, but damn no smashed wagons were over there, maybe there will be next time

My KJ2 owner's manual claims the reverse lights are in the tailgate. The only thing stopping me doing this to my wagon is the wife. Really need to find another Verada wagon to play with.
