I moved my CAI to under the front bumper the other day, it was beside the fog lamp before, anyway, today i checked it and there was about 20 rocks inside the pipe, the rocks are about 1.5-2cm in size, and there was a couple in my air box. So now im thinking I should install a filter on it to stop the rocks from mums driveway. What should I use? Im thinking of using some chicken wire (the one with about 1cm gaps in it in a square grid kinda layout) would this affect the flow much? and how would I fix it onto the pipe. Im using a ribber pipe with a wire coil running around the inside edge of it to keep it in shape...Im open to suggestions for a better idea....

Something that wont restrict the flow, the best thing i can think of is those old monitor anti-glare shields, superfine and wont stop ANY airflow.

Dont want to stop dust etc, just these big rocks. Im thinking chicken wire is the way to go.

yeah something like chicken wire or mesh along the lines of that should stop those rocks coming through

']a stocking perhaps?

Now thats an idea!.....Wouldnt it eventually get clogged up from dirt and mud though and restrict air flow?

Just tie it over the end of the tube with an elastic band, i guess no matter what you put there will clog up eventually.....just a stocking is a very simple idea, easy to install, easy to remove, otherwise, if you can get chicken mesh to STAY in there hell go ahead and do that....

im sure another idea will pop up but thats mine:)

And that autobarn mesh doesn't flow the best (although allot better then stockings (I've tried)). The chicken wire idea is your best bet so far (even try that roof gutter leaf guard mesh (about 1/cm^2 spacings).

Yeah I'd go with chicken wire, aviary wire (i think that's what you're thinking of ~1cm square holes) or window mesh, would also do the trick.

Flywire mesh and a hose clamp might be a bit hardier than stocking?
