Hi everyone,

Is there a way to get feedback (i.e. indicator flash/beep from horn) from the car when remote locking/unlocking a TJ VRX?

Cheers,

Dan.

Yep. Just hear the locks operate, no indicator flash. Indicators work OK when driving too  also, the boot relase button doesn't work - maybe remote stuffed?

Sorry to jack your thread man, BUT... Is it possible to make the horn beep when you lock/unlock the car? And also is it possible to change it from having to press the unlock button twice, to only once to open all doors?

Not possible, to both.

I know you might already know but to open the boot you must press the boot button twice within a few seconds. Not once as per most cars.

Not sure whats going on with the indicator lights though

Is the car an ex police car? Sounds like what many of the unmarked/undercover police cars do.

lol

Very easy... Ive had this happen twice. Its a fuse. You indicators and boot release share a common fuse. I can't remember if its located in the fuse box in the engine bay or down near the drivers leg. Its a 10A fuse. Pretty sure its in the engine bay.

You could make the horn go off, just run a wire from the remote switch to the horn. Dunno about unlocking all the doors with one button push though.

I meant not possible with the factory setup. It is not programmable to allow for different options, say like VY-VZ commodore.

Who wants the horn to go every time you lock anyway. Drive the neighbours nuts!!

The press twice to open boot is so that you don't accidentally open it. Unlike the doors
which lock after 30 seconds if unopened, the boot actually slightly releases so it can't lock
again automatically.

Also, the press once to unlock drivers and again to unlock others is a security/safety/anti-
car jacking feature. Its so that if someone was hiding on the other side of the car in an
badly lit area, they can't go in when you unlock just the drivers door.
